Google Ads Integration
Connecting Google Ads is what unlocks the spend side of the marketing-attribution equation. Once linked, Kenzsys pulls your campaign performance, ad-group structure, and conversion data automatically — no manual exports, no copy-pasting from the Ads UI.
What this integration enables
Once Google Ads is connected, the following become available in Kenzsys:
- The Cost Per Lead KPI on the dashboard starts calculating.
- The Ad Return KPI starts calculating (also requires Clio).
- The Attribution page shows lead-to-revenue tracing by campaign and ad group.
- The Performance Trends chart displays Google Ads as a channel.
- Anomaly Alerts watch for sudden spend spikes or CPL drops on individual campaigns.
- The Weekly Playbook surfaces underperforming campaigns and keyword recommendations.
Step-by-step: how to connect
- In the Kenzsys left sidebar, click Settings, then click the Integrations tab.
- Find the Google Ads card in the grid and click Connect.
- A popup opens to the Google sign-in page. Sign in with the Google account that has direct access to your Google Ads customer ID.
- On the OAuth consent screen, review the requested permissions (read-only access to Google Ads data) and click Allow.
- The popup closes and Kenzsys lists the Google Ads accounts your login can access. If you manage multiple accounts through an MCC manager account, you'll see them all. Pick the account that belongs to your firm and click Link.
- The card flips to Connected and the first sync begins automatically.
What syncs and how often
On the first connection, Kenzsys pulls the last 90 days of data — enough to make the dashboard and Performance Trends chart useful immediately. Over the next 24 hours, the backfill extends to 13 months so year-over-year comparisons are available. After the initial sync:
- Campaigns, ad groups, and keywords sync daily.
- Spend, impressions, clicks, and CTR sync daily.
- Conversions reported in Google Ads sync daily.
- Search-term reports sync weekly (Google delays these).
Where to see the data
Google Ads data shows up in several places throughout Kenzsys:
- Overview dashboard — Cost Per Lead and Ad Return KPIs.
- Attribution page — full breakdown by campaign, ad group, and keyword.
- Lead detail pages — every Google Ads-sourced lead shows the originating campaign and keyword.
- Reports — monthly AI reports include a Google Ads section by default.
First sync takes 5 to 15 minutes for the recent 90 days. If you don't see any campaign data after 15 minutes, see the troubleshooting section below.
Troubleshooting
If you connected Google Ads but see no data after 15 minutes:
- Confirm the Google account has Ads access, not just Analytics access. This is the most common cause of empty integrations. Open ads.google.com in a new tab while signed in as the same account and confirm you see campaign data. If you see "You don't have access," sign out of Kenzsys's Google Ads integration and reconnect with an account that does.
- If you used an MCC manager account, confirm you selected the right sub-account when linking. You can switch the linked account from Settings > Integrations > Google Ads > Switch account.
- If the account is brand new (less than 24 hours old), Google sometimes delays data availability through the API. Wait until the next morning and check again.
- If none of the above resolves it, email hello@kenzsys.com with the Google Ads customer ID (10-digit number at the top of your Ads account) and we'll investigate.
